Ideas for Biblical costumes

Here are some of Room 3's creative ideas for their costumes that they need to bring on Friday for our dress rehearsal for our Christmas play. Everyone will need theirs for Monday.

Library Visitors

This morning Sam and Tania from Christchurch City Libraries came to talk to us about libraries. They read some books and told a story about some New Zealand birds. Ava was a beautiful tui.

The Entertainers!

The Room 1, 2 and 3 children provided some wonderful entertainment at the Parish Christmas lunch today. The parishioners enjoyed the folk dancing and the singing.

Before we went we had to help Mrs Sjoberg put the flowers on the bookmarks everyone had made.

Amazing Magnets

It was great to hear the children explaining to their families and friends some of the new knowledge they have gained about magnets.

Yakkity Yak

Today we enjoyed a very energetic and fun performance from the students from CPIT - Performing Arts. The show was called "Don't Judge a Book By Its Cover". Its message was all about being yourself and using your talents.

Footsteps Dance

Today the whole school enjoyed dance lessons with Kate from Footsteps Dance. Room 3 children went in two different groups. The younger children learned a dance called "Cartoon Heroes".









The other group learned a hip-hop dance routine.

Poetry Finals

Congratulations to Zach (first), Elia (second) and Daisy (third) who all did very well in the Poetry competition.

Poetry Recital

Congratulations to all the children for their wonderful poetry presentations. It was very hard to pick just 3 finalists in such a close competition.

Travis Wetlands

This afternoon we enjoyed a wonderful trip to Travis Wetlands. We learned about the importance of the birds, insects and trees.

Bob Bickerton Show

This morning the whole school enjoyed a show by Bob Bickerton about whaling in early New Zealand. He entertained us with traditional Maori musical instruments as well as some Irish instruments as he told the story of a young sailor called Tom and a Maori woman called Mere.

Cricket Coaching

This afternoon Ciaran and Michael from Christchurch Metro cricket came to give us some coaching. We practised catching and then played a fun game of speed cricket.

Super Mathletes!!

During last week all the children earned a Mathletics certificate. This is the first time everyone has earned one in the same week. Well done!

Inflatable World

We had a lot of fun on Friday afternoon! There were lots of different activities to try.
